Humber Highlight: Shirley Cochrane
Meet Shirley, one of our volunteers at Humber River Hospital. Shirley has worn a number of hats as a volunteer here. In the past, she has even brought in her dogs as therapy dogs!
Now, Shirley knits things for the Hospital Gift Shop, and also knits for the newborns at the Hospital.
Shirley told us,
“I make this octopus for the preemies. They like to hold the tentacles, which reminds them of the umbilical cord and stops them from pulling at their tubes. I also teach knitting in the Mental Health Unit. It’s the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.”
Thank you Shirley!
