Personal Fundraising Pages: The Teron’s Holiday Party
Adrienne and Bruce Teron always look forward to their holiday party, which they have been hosting since 1996. There’s something magical about their friends coming together in their home to reconnect and kick-off the holiday season.
“About ten years ago we decided ‘Okay, no more hostess gifts!’” remembers Adrienne. “We decided we wanted to raise money for causes that we cared about.”
The Teron’s started raising money for Humber River Hospital Foundation in 2015. Last year, their holiday party raised over $4,400 for the hospital, bringing their total to over $13,000 for Humber River Hospital Foundation.
“We started raising funds for Humber River Hospital Foundation to support the opening of the new hospital,” remembers Adrienne, “It’s such an amazing facility, and we’re happy to have it close to our home in Etobicoke.”
At first, the Teron’s invited their friends to bring cash or cheque donations. Now, with online fundraising pages, they simply share the link with their friends.
“They’re really easy to set up,” says Adrienne, “Our friends are so generous, and it’s nice to have their donations collected in one place.”
Personal Fundraising Pages are a great way to involve your community in the causes close to your heart. Many of our donors create fundraising pages to celebrate a milestone with friends, collect gifts in honour of a caregiver, remember a loved one, or raise money in lieu of gifts like Adrienne and Bruce.
“We are grateful and fortunate to have donors like the Teron’s,” says David Gilmer, Vice President of Development at Humber River Hospital Foundation. “I’m always touched to see people involving their friends and family in support of Humber.”
Thank you, Adrienne and Bruce, for your support!
