A Cause In Her Heart: Jackie’s Story

May 4, 2022

Jackie Rosati had been a supporter of Humber River Hospital since 1990.

Before her passing, Jackie Rosati had been a supporter of Humber River Hospital since 1990 and always loved the Hospital. Not only was she a former nurse, but she also dedicated her time being very involved as a volunteer at the Hospital with her late husband, Elio Rosati.

“My late husband and I were volunteers. He was on the Board before me, and as a matter of fact, I was the first female Board Member. They needed a woman and I fit the bill,” Jackie said.

In addition to being involved with the Hospital, Jackie gave back to the place that held a special place in her heart, all her life.

“This is my Hospital. It’s the one I use, it gives me what I need, so I feel happy supporting it,” Jackie said. “I’ve been involved all my lifetime, and I wanted to be involved when I’m gone.”

Realizing that she and Elio were in a position to give back to Humber, they made the decision to leave a gift in their Will. This made them part of the Aspen Grove Society, Humber River Hospital Foundation’s legacy giving program.

“It’s time for us to take action for the things we believe in. Those causes in our hearts,” she said. “Humber River Hospital is mine.”

At 95 years old, Jackie passed away on November 6, 2019. She is survived by her daughter, Donna, but her legacy at Humber will live on forever.
