After meeting with a member of Humber River Health Foundation’s Planned Giving Advisory Committee, Luvraj knew how she could best make a lasting impact: giving through life insurance.

Luvraj wanted to make a lasting impact in her community. As a Chiropractor and with a baby on the way, she was committed to give back in a way that was meaningful to the community and made sense for her family.

With her practice being near Humber, she learned a lot about the hospital’s innovations through her patients. She loved how Humber River Health invests in technology to improve care, and how they are constantly pioneering new ways to make healthcare more accessible to everyone.

“I have not seen anything like the Command Centre in other organizations,” says Luvraj. “This hospital has won a lot of awards for innovations and it’s really interesting to see how everything is so organized and how it (Command Centre) allows the hospital to have eyes on everything.”

“My husband and I lost family members to cardiovascular diseases, illnesses, ailments,” she says. “It was only natural to make an impact this way.”

Giving through life insurance can be great way to leave an impactful gift that is beneficial for business owners. It often makes more sense from a taxation perspective, as an example. She was surprised and impressed at how seamless the process was.

Luvraj is part of a group of young professionals – Rising Philanthropic Leaders (RiPL) – who want to make a positive change in their community, starting at Humber River Health.

“There are people from backgrounds other than healthcare: such as finance, marketing, even people with their own businesses,” she says. “It’s nice to see everyone can come together and share their expertise and experience.”

Luvraj is proud to leave a legacy gift that can improve healthcare in the community that her child’s generation will benefit from.
