Essential Cardiac Services mean equitable access to care
Faster, safer care close to home
TODAY/ CHALLENGE
Our cardiology department is one of the busiest in Ontario, seeing more than 17,000 patients each year. Without the full spectrum of cardiac emergency care, our patients face the possibility of having to be transferred to another hospital for diagnostic tests and catheterization. This can lead to dangerous delays in treatment, longer hospitalizations and a fragmented quality of care.
TOMORROW/ OPPORTUNITY
Your contribution will make a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab possible and expand our device clinic to include an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) program. Bringing these essential services closer to home is critical to the health of our community. By breaking down barriers, we can ensure more equitable access to care.
As our population ages, patient volumes rise and the care they need becomes more complex. Our ability to navigate this evolving landscape will become even more critical to maintain the highest standard of care close to home for those who need it most.
