Robotics play a key role in treatments that deliver better outcomes
Leading surgical innovation with one of the largest single-site orthopaedic teams in Ontario
TODAY/ CHALLENGE
One of the first of its kind, our Robotic Surgery program continues to innovate and lead the way in improving patient and system outcomes. Our surgeons recently performed Toronto’s first fully robotic bladder cancer surgery and piloted Hyper-Throughput Operating Rooms, designed to make anterior hip replacements faster and safer. With a strong commitment to transformative and revolutionary care, our teams are constantly discovering new ways to expand the use of Robotic Surgery to a growing number of procedures for better patient and system outcomes.
TOMORROW/ OPPORTUNITY
With your help, we can continue to upgrade our medical and surgical robots and stay at the forefront of the latest innovations. Expanding the use of Robotic Surgery will further enable us to provide advanced care to even more patients, enhance other programs and give more surgeons the opportunity to be trained in their use.
Robotic Surgery is primarily donor-funded. Without your generosity, our Robotic Surgery program would not exist and patients would not have access to significantly improved outcomes and surgical efficiency.
-
Precision Treatment
For the past decade, thousands of patients with the most complicated and risky medical needs have travelled from far and wide to receive precision treatment from our talented surgeons guiding the robots.
-
Better Outcomes
Robotic Surgery allows for less invasive techniques, which leads to quicker recovery times and fewer postoperative complications.
-
Maximum Efficiency
With an 87% same-day discharge rate for the hip and knee population, the surgical team continues to push the envelope for efficiencies and safety.
